How can I make the Picture on My Sharp TV Suit the Screen?

January 21, 2023 By rehan khan

If the image on your Sharp TV is not properly filling the screen, you can try a few different things. Sometimes all that needs to be done is a minor adjustment, but other times the TV may need to be repaired. Discover what to do in each circumstance by continuing to read.

  1. Verify that your television is configured with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
  2. If not, adjust it by selecting Menu > Picture > Aspect Ratio.
  3. Zoom settings can be changed if the image is still too big or small.
  4. Find the configuration that looks the best to you by experimenting with various combinations of these parameters.

Making Aspect Ratio Changes with the Remote Control

Using the remote control to search the menu list on your TV for the option is one of the simplest ways to alter the aspect ratio. Standard settings are available on the majority of Sharp TV remote controls. To alter your TV’s resolution, follow these steps:

  1. On your remote control, click the Menu button. On the majority of Sharp TV remote controls, this will be denoted as “menu” or “three horizontal lines.” Check your handbook if there isn’t a Menu button. To locate your TV’s manual if you no longer have it, see the section below titled “Finding Your TV Model.”
  2. By utilising the Menu, you can access Settings or System Settings. To navigate the choices, press the Left and Right or Up and Down buttons.
  3. Find Picture or Screen Settings under Settings.
  4. Look for and select Screen Size or Picture Size under Picture or Screen Settings. You should now have a list of the various aspect ratios available for use with your TV.
  5. Use your remote to move around and select Continue or click OK after selecting the desired aspect ratio.
  6. Your TV should now display the chosen aspect ratio.

What Kinds of Aspect Ratios Should I Use?

To discover a resolution that works for you if you are unsure of the aspect ratio you want to utilise, check at the parameters below:

  1. As the name implies, this is how TV networks often present their programming in 4:3. This resolution is still used by many networks, despite the fact that many people believe it to be somewhat outdated. If you frequently watch network TV shows, utilise this aspect ratio.
  2. Prior to the popularity of HD TV, widescreen TVs employed the 16:9 aspect ratio. This will be the aspect ratio your TV will use by default if it isn’t HD-ready.
  3. The original high-definition TVs could only display images at a resolution of 720p. The majority of people are aware that 720p TVs include “Enhanced Resolution.”
  4. You may be able to select between 1080p, 1080i, or both, depending on the make and model of your TV. Since it was the highest setting prior to the release of the newest high-definition TVs, it is still the most widely used setting.
  5. The highest aspect ratio currently supported by TVs is 4K resolution. It displays extremely clean and clear images since it has almost twice as many pixels as 1080p. However, not every show is shown in 4K, and although many networks are gradually making this the norm, it is still less common than the other resolutions.

How to Use the Manual Settings Controls

The same menu settings can be accessed directly from your Television set if your remote control isn’t available. A button labelled “Menu” ought to be located on the front of your TV. Try looking for the buttons on the side or underneath the screen if your model doesn’t have any front buttons.

Instead of using the directional buttons, scroll through the settings using the channel navigation and volume control buttons. To find the available aspect ratio possibilities and choose your favourite, simply follow the directions above. Go to the section below titled “Finding your TV model” if you can’t locate the manual buttons on your TV in the user manual.

How to Modify the TV’s Aspect Ratio on a Sharp Aquos

On your Sharp Aquos TV, changing the aspect ratio is simple. Your remote control’s “Aspect” button should be used to select the desired setting. There are several options available, including “Normal,” “Zoom,” “Full Screen,” and “Stretch.” If you’re unsure which option will suit your viewing requirements the best, experiment with each one to see which one appears the best on your TV. The Sharp Aquos TV’s built-in settings menu also lets you change the aspect ratio there. To achieve this, navigate to the “Picture” settings on your remote control by pressing the “Menu” button. You can choose the preferred aspect ratio for your TV from this point on.
